Materials:

Fabric expansion joints are constructed using a multi-layer composite system tailored to the operating conditions.

Material selection is determined by the service temperature, chemical exposure, pressure rating and movement parameters.

  • Outer Protective Layers: PTFE coated glass fibre, Silicone coated glass cloth or High-temperature ceramic fabrics for weather and chemical resistance.

  • Thermal Insulation Layers: Ceramic fibre blanket or Mineral wool for high-temperature resistance.

  • Gas Barrier Layers: PTFE films or Elastomer coated fabrics for gas tight sealing.

  • Abrasion Resistant Layers: Woven Glass fibre or Aramid fabrics with coatings for particulate heavy flows.
